The photographer Carla Richmond and writer Hanne Steen had conversations with some women with failed relationship or their lovers have been left them out. They talked with each women separately and during the talks Hanne Steen recorded their conversations and Carla Richmond photographed them wearing ex-lover shirts with reflective faces.
All I want to say is that these portraits are seriously heart-touching. What exactly the shirt inspires in those who wear it may be personal, but the photos manage to draw out the unifying qualities of a common human experience – love, or a love lost.
