Driving or walking through a pothole is never fun. So to bring a little balm to the heart after this most unpleasant experience, the couple of photographers formed by Claudia Ficca and Davide Luciano challenged themselves to divert the New York potholes into certainly funny scenes.

From Potholes to Potholes Art: The Creative Diversion You Have to See

While the city that never sleeps attracts many tourists yearly, it is also home to many dangerous potholes for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. The two creatives have thus embarked on a quest to unearth the potholes of New York to highlight them in an original way.

Their artistic project entitled “My Potholes” is a clever mix of imagination and absurdity that gives life to the craziest photographs and we love it. While some potholes have been transformed into champagne bottle jumps or a swimming pool with a diving board, others reveal a shark’s wing as a (tar) surfer approaches or a massive plate of spaghetti Bolognese.

The idea for this series of photographs, which came from a personal experience while living in Montreal, Quebec, opened up unexpected doors for them, leading them to travel to Toronto, Los Angeles, and much more in search of new inspiration.
