Pakistan: Creatively Decorated Trucks To Find Missing Children
Every year, more than 3,000 children go missing in Pakistan. Often taken to rural and remote areas, they escape media coverage, making searches difficult. Faced with this emergency, the paint company Berger Paints has chosen to take action by launching an initiative as creative as it is effective: Truck Art Childfinder. This unique project is based on truck art, an iconic art form in Pakistan. These transport trucks crisscross the country decorated with floral motifs, animals, calligraphy, and portraits of popular figures, transforming the roads into traveling art galleries.
In partnership with the BBDO Pakistan agency, artist and activist Samar Minallah Khan, and the NGO Roshni Helpline, the Kolkata-based brand decided to reinvent this tradition by painting portraits of missing children, along with a phone number for collecting information.

A campaign that crosses borders… and consciences
The idea is simple, but its impact is powerful: to transport the faces of these children across thousands of kilometers. These trucks now cover the entire territory of Pakistan, traveling up to 50,000 kilometers. Where traditional media struggle to be heard, these vehicles become messengers of hope, reaching isolated areas.
In just four weeks after its launch, three missing children were found. The campaign generated more than 3,000 calls, including 500 serious leads. Thanks to these reports, seven children were reunited with their families, illustrating the power of this artistic and civic mobilization.

This project embodies truck art’s ability to transcend its aesthetic vocation to become an awareness-raising tool. Berger Paints has leveraged a powerful logistics network, with trucks crisscrossing the country, and the collective imagination attached to these rolling works. It’s a way to make the invisible visible and to place an often-ignored cause back at the heart of the debate.
