Street artist Joe Iurato from New Jersey, creates original small human figures made out of wood, which, after coloring resemble real people, only in miniature. He paints and carves each miniature wooden figure before throwing them up in appropriate urban environments.
Most of his work can be seen on the streets of New York and surrounding cities. But most of all, he likes to “work” in Brooklyn. Joe Iurato loves to play with drawings on public places, walls of buildings, at intersections and streetlights.
“One of the elements that I love about doing these smaller pieces is the surprise factor. You might see it. You might not. If you do, though, it’s not something that grabbed you from across the street like a massive 40’ mural would. Chances are you caught it from the corner of your eye just a few feet away, and the connection made is intimate.†– says Joe Iurato
