Artist Creates Portraits Of Famous Musicians With K7 Audio Tapes
It is an object whose use the younger generation is undoubtedly unaware of. But for others, the cassettes (or K7) are a little Proust madeleine. With their magnetic tape that had to be reassembled to read the music, the cassettes have now disappeared… except in the daily life of the photographer Amy.
The latter reveals a creative project on her Instagram account where she diverts the magnetic tapes of K7 audio to create portraits of famous musicians. Taking the black ribbon out of its protection, she sticks it on and cuts it out to represent silhouettes that fans will easily recognize.
Among the artists highlighted are Elton John, Bob Marley, John Lennon, and George Harrison. The American creative also presents artists less known in France like Chris Kasper, James Mercer, and Merle Haggard but whose portraits are just as successful.
