Android Phone Into A Geiger Counter

Based on the CMOS camera sensors developers are succeeded in developing an App for android mobiles, working as a real Geiger Counter. Now you can simply turn the camera on your Android phone into a makeshift Geiger Counter. with nothing more than an app and some black tape. The app works by blocking all the light coming into a phone’s camera sensor with a piece of tape or plastic. The app works by covering the camera lens to block light. This App is not one of those numerous “fun apps”, but a true, really working radiation detector. The app is actually $4.99 for the full version and $1.49 for the lite version. The app saves raw radiation counter values, temperature data and the location during use. The app requires around 15 minutes to calibrate with your phone’s hardware, so if you plan to use this make sure you’ve taken the time to calibrate. It was originally developed in the Helmholtz Research Center in Munich.
