Have you ever delivered that witty response to someone’s Facebook status only to realize that it contains the kind of typo that makes you look like a monumental idiot? Unfortunately there was never much you could do about it. Finally the Facebook users can now fix a dumb typo or change something they said that may have been a little too rude in a comment.
Before this Facebook update, if you wanted to edit a comment on Facebook you would have to click the “X” next to comments and delete it. Then, you could go back and post your comment again typed correctly. That was a little time consuming and untidy. The new feature also lives audit trail of all the adjustments made on the initial comment making it easy for the audience to back track the conversation as it unfolded.
The edit option looks like a small pencil on the right side of the comment. Clicking it will bring a dropdown menu showing comment as an input field, and let users edit the previously-entered text.
Keep in mind that if another person comments before you click the delete button, this edit option is no longer available.”
