When a light bulb burns out, we rarely give it a second thought. You can lend your imagination toward this fragile household item, intent on giving burnt out bulbs a second life as something very different, and aesthetically pleasing. It’s very easy to make, use of turning a light bulb into an oil burner, terrarium and many another interesting things. Used light bulbs, typically destined for the trash bin, could be the setting for an adorable miniature terrarium, practically any clear glass container can contain a tiny greenhouse, providing humidity and warmth to plants. Here are few amazing examples to use as inspiration.

Wow, this never crossed my mind, really. I have light bulbs going out very often unfortunately, I must think about something like this!
It would be very helpful if you could provide a few do-it-yourself tutorials on how to create something similar.
Insanely clever, I love the terrariums. Might give it a shot; will probably blunder my way through the first couple until I get it right.

Great ideas, but we only use energy saver lightbulbs these days (doesn’t everybody?)
this is cool, and I would so try it, but we don’t have any of the old energy wasting bulbs left in our house… I wish I had seen this a few years ago though.
I love these plants my Grandma has on she said its a lot of money but she had to have one
Would small plants in light bulbs be strictly decorative or could they actually grow successfully in them and eventually be re-potted?

Really nice ideas. I’m only a bit concerned that light bulbs have a very thin layer of glass that could easily get crushed.
