Caboodle Ranch a 100 acre cat sanctuary created by Craig Grant in 2003 that is located Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It is now home to over 500 happy cats.

Cats should be able to roam free, and at Caboodle Ranch, that’s what they do. We are in the middle of 100 acres of wildlife. The cats follow me through the nature trails that I put in and maintain, they climb in tree forts that I’ve built and hide in underground dens I’ve dug for them.

Caboodle Ranch is currently facing some financial hardships. If you would like help out the ranch and it’s feline residents thrive, you can make a donation or buy some merchandise.

Well, they’re going to really mess up the local eco-system: 500 well fed, non-natural predators. I wouldn’t want to be a baby bird round there.

Such irresponsibility is what’s killing our planet.

I have to agree. Cats do not NEED to roam! My cat has never been outside a day in her life and couldn’t be happier. The coyotes, wolves, bears, owls and hawks in those mountains all willingly eat cats! If they cannot afford to take care of the number of cats they have then they should have stopped at a sustainable number. This is hoarding whether they see it that way or not.

Wow, such negative comments! That’s unfair when youknow nothing about what Caboodle Ranch does for unwanted and abandoned cats! And, number one, there are a few misquotes in this article. Craig does not have 500 cats, he has around 220, and that’s for 30 acres people. And YES cats DO thrive when they are outside and roaming! It IS their natural habitat. We even had professors from the University of FLorida and their interns, Animal Control and Veteranarians come out to look at the ranch and they agree that cats do so well out of doors. BUT, the ranch provides several indoor housing as well, not just for those cats that prefer to stay ‘domesticated’ but for shelter and coolness or warmth depending on the season. So please do not jump to such ridiculous conclusions when you are clearly ignorant of what this organization provides. Being judgemental is just another way of being a narrow minded.

  5. Caboodle Ranch is Cat Hell, not cat heaven.

Don’t be fooled by the cute little houses and videos. The internet Caboodle Ranch is nothing like the real world Caboodle Ranch. Numerous witnesses have reported seeing the majority of cats sickened with illnesses, diseases, injuries, and parasite infestations. The living facilities are filthy and smell retched. Cats are left to lie in their in their own vomit and feces. Cats don’t receive proper medical attention. Craig “plays doctor” by diagnosing the cats himself and personally gives them medication and patches them up based on his “expert” knowledge. Cats are only taken to the vet as a last resort. Usually by this time the cats are too far gone. Instead of ending the suffering by humanely putting the cat to sleep, he elects to allow the cat to die a slow, painful death. Craig Grant, the operator, fits the classic signs of a hoarder.

It’s estimated that Caboodle Ranch has taken in thousands of cats since its inception. However, recent visitors have reported seeing about 100 or less cats roaming the grounds. Cats are dying at alarming rates. Several people have taken cats there and changed their minds and went to retrieve them in as little as 24 hours to find that the cat(s) was/were nowhere to be found. Major killers of the cats are coyote attacks, upper respiratory infections, Felv/FIV, being hit by cars, and shot and poisoned by neighbors.
