Swiss luxury watchmaker Chopard introduced sole compilation of luxury watches called XP Urushi. Kiichiro Masumura, a Japanese artiste, measured to be a “Living National Treasure” by his nation, has supervised the conception of nine sole dials based on Urushi techniques. Urushi is the inherited Japanese art of lacquering. The varnish is completed from the sap of the Urushi hierarchy a tree which is typically established in Japan and China.
Chopard presents a compilation of 9 dissimilar dials strictly supervised by Kiichiro Masumura and designed, tinted and decorated with gold powder by the Yamada Heiando Company and bureaucrat dealer to the Emperor of Japan. These works symbolize the 5 (wood, fire, earth, metal and water) basic rudiments of the cosmos according to the very old philosophy of Chinese natural science. The last 3 dials feature a peacock, the jungle and red fish.
