6 Weirdest Photos From “Day of the Geese” Spain

The people of Spain have a rather weird way of keeping themselves entertained. In the Basque fishing town of Lekeitio, Bilbao every year Spanish people celebrate day of the Geese where young men get opportunity to prove their skills by rearing the head off a goose. In the beginning this weird event was celebrated using living geese but in recent year they killed animal before hanging on the rope. Geese are hung from a rope over the harbor as participants passing on a boat attempt to grab the animal and are then lifted up and plunged into the water until they pull off its neck or fall down into the water.
